The mobile solution for Microsoft’s Dynamics NAV enables access to all your business’ data and objects when you are out of the office i.e. away from your workplace PC. 

Upon installation the systems administrator determines which data are transferred to the mobile device, and which options are available for processing the data.

Configuration of the mobile solution is executed exclusively in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Individual mobile roles are defined or templates, i.e. preconfigured scenarios, are simply imported into the databank.
The various roles are then assigned to the respective devices and can be tailored to the individual needs of the specific user. 

Hence many and varied applications can be implemented on the mobile devices without the need for time-intensive and costly programming – serving both mobile retrieval of order-related data, and also the reporting of data collected in the field.
The integrated deployment functionality enables the mobile applications ot be distributed to the mobile devices at the push of a button.

In order to ensure maximum efficiency in data capture, mobile devices can be equipped with a wide range of peripherals – for example, with bar code scanners and RFID readers.

Bar codes are tried and tested over years as an effective aid, for example, in the reading of visibly accessible labels.

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an innovative organisational tool enabling contactless identification of objects.

The various manufacturers offer your peripheral devices in varying degrees of robustness (protection standards) to suit industrial requirements. 

The data is administered chiefly by the Microsoft Dynamics NAV database. Mobile devices are configured such that each device only references the information intended for the corresponding user.

Each time the device is connected to its docking station the data in the database are compared with those on the device. New data sets are downloaded, old or outdated data are deleted and modified data are updated.

The mobile solution employs the breadth of functionality provided by Microsoft Active Sync – automatic administration of partnerships for any number of devices, plug-and-play recognition of the device connected, connection initiation via USB or wireless (WiFi or Bluetooth) – and extends these with the addition of an individual information type for the purpose of synchronisation with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV database.
